Dhikala Zone has the highest tiger density and is widely considered the best zone for tiger sightings — experienced guests report 35–40% sighting probability during winter mornings. However, Dhikala allows only a shared Canter Safari for day visitors (no private jeep). For jeep safari with strong tiger chances, Bijrani and Jhirna are the top picks, with 20–25% sighting probability. We recommend a zone based on your travel dates, group size, and accommodation location.
Dhikala does not allow private jeep safari permits for day visitors. Day visitors can only book a seat on the government-run 16-seater Canter Safari. Private jeep safaris inside Dhikala are permitted only for guests with a confirmed night stay at the Dhikala Forest Rest House (FRH) — these are booked separately via the official portal and sell out very fast.
Bijrani, Dhela, and Jhirna zones are ideal for families. These zones have well-maintained jeep tracks suitable for children, shorter 4-hour safari slots, and resorts close by. Bijrani is nearest to Ramnagar and has the best road access. Dhikala is best avoided for young children due to the long Canter ride (6–7 hours) and limited facilities inside.

Jim Corbett (Ramnagar) is approximately 240–260 km from Delhi. By road via NH9 through Moradabad, the drive takes 5–6 hours depending on traffic. By train, the Kathgodam Express reaches Kathgodam station in about 6 hours, followed by a 35 km cab ride (45 minutes) to Ramnagar. Most of our packages include a private cab pickup from Delhi or Kathgodam station, timed for your evening check-in.
